Story:
I was ready with a script of my first or rather second short malayalam movie 'AHAM'. Had couple of sittings with the actors, narration of dialogues and was getting into the groove. But due to uncontrollable situations surrounding me, thought of working on a short film which has scope of a genre which I have never tried and would take less time. That day met G.S. Vasu Kumar online (from here on Vasu), a very good short story writer, who has published some short stories to his credit. I asked him whether he has some short stories which I can work on and which fits in the genre (I am not planning to disclose here the genre I was keen to work on) I was keen to work on. Vasu immediately send some three to four short stories. I read and liked all, but one of the story had more scope to build in drama visually. Modified the plot, discussed with Vasu, he agreed to the changes and that is how the story of 'The Uninvited' came into existence.
Casting:
I was ill for few days, was taking rest and that was the time I tried to visualize the entire plot. The script was ready in my head and also the actors too. I wanted Abhirami a.k.a Akshaya to play the pivotal role for this movie. Knowing her potential in the past, I thought this would be a role which she can work with ease. Was skeptical whether she would agree to do the role, so called her and emailed her the story. After a day I receive a SMS saying she liked the story and she would be intersted to chip in. Regarding the other male character, I thought of looking out for some actors whom I have worked with in the past. Later on keeping in mind the length of the role which is not that substantial, thought of doing that role myself rather convincing others to help me out.
